This summer, the SGH team were proud to collaborate with numerous partners to host a series of remarkable golf days, extending our reach from our base in Yorkshire to as far as Portugal.

Whether we have been supporting great causes or delivering exceptional corporate experiences, each event was designed to leave a lasting memory for everyone involved.

Our season teed off in May at The Beefy Charity Foundation UK Challenge, hosted at The Shire Golf Club. It was an honor to support Sir Ian Botham and his charitable efforts, with the day raising vital funds for an important cause.

In July, we brought our expertise closer to home, supporting Super League team, Castleford Tigers’ Annual Golf Day at Oulton Hall. Amongst other on course activation, players faced the challenge of winning a trip to the Masters with a hole-in-one competition. The evening dinner included an amazingly inspiring talk from Olympic gymnast Nile Wilson.

Next up, we had a great day facilitating and organising the SharkNinja Golf Day at the stunning Berkshire Golf Club. The venue was absolutely breath-taking and the guests were delighted with their personalised branded gifts on arrival. The event, aimed at raising money for the Variety Club, included exciting competitions like a Beat The Pro challenge with Ladies European Tour player, Carly Booth, an auction, and an insightful talk from rugby legend Chris Robshaw.

The bank holiday weekend in August only means one thing, the return of the Yorkshire Invitational at Ilkley Golf Club. Hosted by Ryder Cup winner Thomas Bjorn, we welcomed over 300 golfers and spectators to our player village across the 2 days, and still, it remains the largest pro-am and alliance tournament in Yorkshire.

Congratulations to Matt Cort, who defended his title in a playoff against Liam Bond. Thank you to all our incredible sponsors and partners, whom without the day would not have been possible.

There's no sleep for SGH as 1 day later we were back at Ilkley Golf Club for AMT Auto’s Golf Day raising money for Take Heart and MND Association. AMT’s Sporting Partners include Leeds Rhinos, Leeds United and Yorkshire Country Cricket. We welcomed sporting stars from these clubs and listened with enjoyment to them being interviewed post their round of golf. With on-course activations like “Spin the Wheel” and the entertaining “Texas Shambles” hole, it was a vibrant day filled with friendly competition, charitable spirit and amazing Yorkshire weather!

Soon September arrived and we did something SGH had never done before. We supported the Ronald McDonald House Charities Leisure Classic Event, at Vila Sol Golf Club in Vilamoura, Portgual. This 2-day tournament welcomed 160 golfers, and we offered players the opportunity to win a trip to the Masters with a hole-in-one challenge.

We wrapped up the season with the first inaugural Tony Sadler Foundation Golf Day at Sand Moor Golf Club. From a saxophonist playing on the SGH Party hole to an auction and an interesting talk from Darren Gough, the event raised over £30,000 for Macmillan Charity – a heartfelt and fitting way to end the 2024 golf season.
